Rated 2 out of 5 by from Do not waste your money on this one. We purchased this model from Lowe's in November 2015. This model has a 1 year limited warranty. In February 2017 one of the light bulbs, the one closest to the on/off area burnt out, so I thought. I replaced the old one with a new bulb and still would not work. I took the hood apart and tested each connection with my meter. All was good, I found upon inspection that the ceramic connector the bulb sits in was not making a good connection for some strange unknown reason, the bulb keeps flickering when on. It had been working just fine all this time since 2015. I have to purchase a new Wiring Harness now since the warranty no longer exits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to Install This was a replacement hood for a hood that was originally installed in the home in 1987. I had to add wood to the sides under the cabinet in order to accommodate the location of the screw placements in this Broan hood. That was only the beginning of the problems. Regarding Lowes, they did not have the proper 7" ducting in stock at Lowes to include the 7" round duct #97010792 which had to be special ordered. #97010792 also doesn't fit snug over the 7" round duct plate and duck taping it also didn't hold. It had to be screwed in. Difficult to install light bulbs once hood is installed. Light bulbs did NOT come with unit which cost more in addition to having to pay for the 7" round duct part number #97010792 which I opted to use instead of the square one provided. BIG MISTAKE. As of 11/30/16 unit seems to be working just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ventilation To update my experience, the flashing button was an indicator that the filter needed to be cleaned/changed. Resetting the light by holding finger on button stopped the flashing. This is per-the directions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Exhaust quit working after 7 months This unit looks nice, but it is built very cheaply. It was marketed as the "better" in a "Good, Better, Best" display at Lowes. I never felt that the exhaust fan did a great job (it's vented_, but it did an OK job. About two weeks ago the exhaust fan stopped working entirely. The switch works, and I can hear the motor come on, but there is just a low hum, and no fan turning. I definitely would NOT buy this again and would not recommend it at all. We will see how Broan deals with this as the unit should still be under warranty.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very powerful. Very effective in removing smoke Very powerful. But just as I feared, 1 month later the lighted buttons are flickering. Let's see how Broan responds and how much hassle I'll have to go through to repair the thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks nice. Works good. Had to cut range metal to match my offset vent. Had to cut range metal so power could enter from the opposite Side that cutout was available then had to extend power wires. Had to cut some existing trim work for hood to fit flush. Had to use caulk to put around vent to seal the vent hole to the range Hood. Installation was more involved that it should be. Need built in options for greater vent offset. Need means to enter power from other side. Once installed it looks and works very good. I replaced halogen bulbs with LED bulbs. I think LED bulbs should be provided for energy efficiency because We like to leave hood light on dim all night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from god features but the unknown happens Read earlier reviews of the unit turning on the light and/or fan by itself. Was somewhat skeptical about buying the unit but it serves my needs as to what is on the market. Light had turned itself on twice and the fan once in the middle of the night. Cannot understand why there isn't a fix to this issue.

  • Why would the hood fan and light turn on high by itself?

It has happened on two separate occasions that I wake up in the morning and the fan and light on the hood are on high when I made sure they are off. Has this been an issue with any other of these models that this same thing is happening? What could the problem be? Is this a faulty hood range?

    uncommanded operations

We leave the light on low at night. Sometimes when we wake up the light will be on bright and or the fan will be on when we know for a fact that it was not on before going to bed. Is there any history on issues with the switches?
    Asked by: Big Mike
Mine too. The fan or lights will come on randomly several times a week. Ghost Hunters tell me the house is clean so I'm thinking about returning it.

Fan indicator light is flashing. What does this mean?

Hood installed about a month ago and the fan indicator light is flashing rapidly while the fan is off. Does this indicate a problem?
    Asked by: Mark
Apparently this means the filter needs to be cleaned. I read it is in the owner's manual but I didn't actually read it myself. However, mine did the same thing five days after I installed it. Replaced it with another one and that one started flashing after about four weeks. The filter on neither unit was anywhere near dirty enough to need cleaning. I think there is a problem with the fan switch circuitry and maybe a possible fire hazard. I didn't get another one.
