Rated 5 out of 5 by Great replacement This was a replacement unit. We were especially impressed with the quiet hum of the lowest fan setting. Our old unit was so loud that you could not have a conversation. We also noticed that the quiet fan did not mean less power. It moves air noticeably at all settings. The hoods appearance also fit in well with our other installed appliances. It has been over a year since we installed this and it still runs like new. February 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very nice looking at first glance Love the stainless steel look. The highest level of the fan is a bit louder than I wanted. I would have preferred a quieter sound. But I'm happy with it. February 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderful product ease of changing filters and alerted to when they need to be put right into the dishwasher. really happy with that feature. I also like that the fan will automatically go to a higher level while I am cooking. Good Job Broan! February 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful, and works great I bought this range hood to match my new stainless appliances. It turns on automatically if it senses a need, and boosts itself up a notch if needed as well. The led lights have dimmer settings, and light the stovetop brightly at the highest settings. It has been easy to clean, no streaking, and the filter pops right out to wash in the sink. It was a great purchase. February 20, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good ventilation of cooking smoke and steam, quiet only at lowest speed. The ventilation of cooking smoke and steam is good at all levels. The higher speeds will remove even the heaviest of smoke and steam, however the vent is not quiet at any higher speed setting. The low speed setting is good for most cooking and is very quiet at that setting. The lighting is very good when installed with a halogen lamp and has two levels of brightness, but I only use the higher setting. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Low sound level We have a combined kitchen and living 'great' room and I wanted a low sound level. This product full-filled my needs. It has other great features too. February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A nice product Does the job well. Would have been easier to install if it came with a template making cut out for vent easier and more accurate. Highest setting very noisy February 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Broan QS3 Allure I purchased this unit to replace my older QS2 range hood. Unfortunately that unit expired. I liked it so much that I ordered this unit. It was a drop in for me since all I had to do was configure the internal exhaust damper to exhaust to an out door vent. They must've done something to the unit since it's quieter than the older unit. The exhaust works great and does a good job of removing any smoke from the range area and sending outside. I will recommend this unit to all who are looking for a good range hood. February 20, 2013

The hood seems to blow a lot of air into the kitchen through the top vent holes. Is this normal or should all exhaust go up the connected vent?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS330SS range hood. If this range hood is connected to duct work that vents outside, there is a baffle inside the hood that needs to be turned around to eliminate most of the air that comes through the vent holes in the top of the hood. This is explained in the installation instructions. After the baffle is turned around you may feel a little air come through these vents, but it would be very little.

    Answer:
Thank you for the question on the QS330SS range hood. There is a heat sensor inside the unit that will turn the fan on if it senses a buildup of heat underneath the range hood. It sounds like the sensor may be activating prematurely. Please contact our Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 and we can assist you with the repair options.

Can I use LED or CFL bulbs instead of halogen?

Can I use a more energy efficient bulb instead of a halogen type. I would like to use a dimmable LED but I am told some dimmer switches are not compatable with this style of light. Are there any issues using an LED or CFL bulb?

    Answer:
We recommend to Install (2) PAR20, 50 W Maximum Halogen Bulbs or (2) R16, 40 W Maximum Incandescent Bulbs. Dual halogen lights provide focused lighting for unmatched cooktop visibility as well as a soft, night-time level.
You can use any CFL wattage as long as you do not exceed the recommended wattage.

I believe that my 22 year old range hood is the Broan 52000 series. It is vented at a horizontal 90 degree angle to an outside wall about 4 feet away. Will we need adaptive parts to install the QS330?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS330AA range hood. If you do currently have a model 52000 range hood, it should have been installed with five inch duct work. The QS330AA range hood requires a seven inch duct work, so you will probably need to change the duct work to seven inch.

I am considering buying this product but my house does not have a kitchen duct venting outside the house. That means I can only install a product that is capable of re-circulating. Is this an appropriate product for this type of a need?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS330 range hood. This range hood can be installed for either a vented or non-vented (recirculating) application. You would need to purchase the non- ducting filters separately BPSF30 from the distributor or from our website as a replacement part # 99010308.
