    Thank you for your question on the model 657 exhaust fan/light. The 657 is UL listed for use in tub/shower enclosures with GFCI branch wiring.

    How can I remove an existing 654H housing?

    I have already removed the light bulb socket and the fan.

    Thank you for your question on the model 654H housing only. It is easier to remove the housing if you have attic access. The housing is normally attached to the ceiling joists with screws or nails, so having attic access with make the removal easier. If you do not have attic access, you would need to enlarge the hole around the housing so you can work around the unit to detach it from the joists. You will also need to be able to reach the duct work and wiring so enlarging the hole should allow you to do this. You may have to patch the ceiling afterwards depending upon the size of the new fan you purchase.
