Rated 5 out of 5 by I brought this about year ago .It works fantastic because I have a wood burning stove and it will take any smoke out. January 20, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 Not manufatured correctly I had this installed by an electrician replacing a current fan. It should have bee a very easy installation. However the fan blades were too big for the housing. They all had to be trimmed to make the fan work. Once this was done the fan works fine. January 20, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by kitchen fan The kitchen fan was the exact model of the one that needed replacing. I hired a handyman to install it and it took him 2 and 1/2 hrs to do the job. He had some difficulty with getting it to fit. The fan works well but the chain is a little tricky to operate with turning on and off. Overall I am satisfied with the product. September 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Price Best price I could find on the internet and in stores. Easy install/replacement. Only thing I wish it came in different colors, but I will paint the cover once I re-paint my kitchen. Quick shipping and great follow up. August 21, 2012

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 506 chain operated through the wall exhaust fan. The chain from the exterior door gets routed over the switch trigger plate and then through the chain lock. When you release the chain from the chain lock the spring operated outside door will open and the switch plate trigger should lift off of the on/off push button, turning on the fan. The installation instructions are available for download from our web site and they show a picture of this. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

507 wall fan that will not turn on

    Customer avatar

we have a 507 wall fan that will not work. It would run at lower speeds intermittently and then return to high speed all on its own for a few days. Now it won't turn on at all. I have used a multimeter to ensure that there is electric power at the plug and it reads 117.8 volts. Therefore, I'm assuming that the issue must be the switch or the motor. The switch does not seem to click or go all the way up once the switch trigger is released out of the way by the chain. Could you please advise on what to do next to pinpoint the problem?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 507 through the wall exhaust fan. From your description it would appear that the motor needs to be replaced. The part number for the motor is 99080176 and you can get it through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 506 through the wall exhaust fan. The 506 operates with a pull chain and is only designed for one speed. We do have a model 12C that is rated at 360 CFM and you can use our model 72 solid state speed control for variable speed or the model 78 for four speed operation. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 506 through the wall exhaust fan. There is no additional sleeve to make the 506 work in that thickness of wall. We would not have a through the wall fan that will work in a 12 + inch wall.
