Thank you for your question on the model 506 through the wall fan. This is a pull chain operated, through the wall fan that is rated at 480 CFM. We have no kind of temperature rating on this fan.

I like your suggestion of putting a filter behind the fan grille to catch grease. Does Broan make such a filter? If not, where can I get one? Thx.

Is it possible to add a damper (aftermarket, perhaps) to prevent cold outside air coming through?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 506 utility fan. The outside door is pulled shut when the fan is not in use, and does act as a damper to seal air from coming back into the house. There would be no other damper available for this fan.

    Answer:
To Pap: Before cleaning unit, switch power off at service panel & lock it to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.
To remove grease from the fan Blades & housing use a damp (not dripping) sponge or cloth using a solution of DAWN DETERGENT.
I recomment a filter to put behind the grille (S99010046) as this will assist the fan not getting the build up as fast & prolong the life of the fan.

    Answer:
The maximum wall depth that this fan will accommodate is 9 1/2". If your wall is thicker than that, you will need to extend the sleeve with an additional piece of 8" duct.
