  • Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by RMPE7004 It would have gotten mainly 5 stars; however, I have 2 speeds and the low speed has never worked. Would have exchanged it, but it had to be modified just a little for an older kitchen remodel. Other than this, I really like it. February 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Compact Design works well under kitchen cabinet I converted a downflow vent arrangement to an overhead exhaust. The vent had to fit in the cabinet above the stove. This unit was a perfect fit and did not take up a lot of room in the cabinet. Combined with an exterior mounted exhaust fan and a inline silencer the only sound you hear is air movement. There was one defective part which was promptly supplied by Broan. Good service experience. February 6, 2015

Thank you for your question on the under cabinet range hood inserts. The only unit that would fit your dimensions would be the PM250. Please contact our Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on model RMPE7004. I assume that your concern is that cooking odors may come back into the home, through these nearby windows. There is no specified, minimum, distance for this. Naturally, the farther the distance between the two, the better it would be. In some cases, the windows may need to be closed during cooking.

    Answer:
I would suggest that the vent exhaust be located as far away from the windows as possible to avoid the exhaust fumes blowing back through a window when it is open.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model RMPE7004 range hood insert. Along with the RMPE7004, you would normally need some sort of liner for inside the custom hood, as well as an external or in-line blower. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    Answer:
This unit is designed to work with a remotely located fan that exhausts to the exterior of the house. You need a fan sized based on the BTU output of the burners on the stove.

The picture makes it look like it is centered on the long side, but is set back to better line up with the screen vents on the short side, front to back?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model RMPE7004 range hood insert. The vent opening is centered left to right, but not front to back. It is set back further from the front and closer to the back. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model RMPE7004 kitchen exhaust system insert. The RMPE7004 is designed to use some sort of external blower, either in-line or outside. You would need to purchase the blower separately. The RMP17004 would be the version that has an internal 400 CFM blower.

    Answer:
This unit is designed to contol an exhaust fan that is located away from the kitchen. For my installation the exhaust fan is located on an exterior wall. The benefit of this is there is no fan noise in the kitchen. Besides the lights the unit has a varible speed control for the exhaust fan, an automatic switch that turns on the fan if the temperature above the stove get too hot, and a safety switch that shuts off the fan if there is a stove fire.
