Rated 1 out of 5 by from It has no power and is excessively loud This fan is terrible. Only one side of the device has a fan (which you can't see from the pictures), and it does not sufficiently suck up the smoke from cooking. We cook a lot, and often at high temps. The kitchen fills with smoke and we have to open a window frequently. It is also loud and has a feature that it stays running until the smoke clears *which is forever* -- I hate this feature. If I could, I would return it for a new device.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not meet expectations We thought it would be easy to use but the tiny soft pad buttons are difficult to locate and find and are not labeled for the functions. It took us three calls to the store we purchased from, looking at the printed manual for days, and finally a call to the manufacturer to find out how to turn off the fan when the sensors start kicking in. You can't. You must live with the airplane sound until IT decided to turn off. Not good for kitchen conversation. We wish it could have been installed by the dealer into the outside exhaust duct already there (from the old fan) but can only do a charcoal filter because the dealer told us to hire someone else to do that...more $$$. I was so disappointed because after 30 years with an old fan whose switch broke, we thought we were buying something great and we had admired the brand in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works quite well; too many unneeded features This range hood replaced a lower-power, cheaper Broan hood. Basically it does a much better job of exhausting fumes and vapors than the previous hood. Noise level is also OK, though a bit higher than the other one. It's also not quite powerful enough for my cooking purposes. I have no great need for some features--don't need a clock with one on the range below it and one on the countertop microwave next to it. I doubt I will make much use of the timer. Overall, I'm pretty well satisfied with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy It! Excellent design! Very quiet, especially on low speed. Easy to operate. Removes smoke and odor with ease. Beautiful finish. On instillation, the only drawback, is that a paper plan to locate screw location would very helpful! I would fully recommend this product for every home!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features I enjoy! I've always had a Broan, the previous being the Allure model. I like that a lot of improvements and features have been added to an already great product line!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Regrets! Not only do we love the vent hood it isn't easy to clean and it even has automatic sensors that turn the fan up when you're cooking at higher temps absolutely the best oven hood I've ever owned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like this exhaust hood I had it installed by a contractor and there were no issues. The fan looks really nice (almost commercial like). You do have to be careful not to get fingerprints on the stainless steel. The lights are awesome, but I wish they were LED's. On the low setting it is so quiet, we have accidentally left it on overnight.

Can the halogen lights be replaced with LED lights?

    Asked by: Gaga L
I tried LED bulbs. Did not work. Low setting: they would not turn on. Med setting: They would flicker High setting: They would turn on....reluctantly. Guessing it has to do with the voltage levels across the bulbs. LEDs need a certain level to just turn on, whereas Halogens can handle a super low voltage. But, yes.. I really do not like the heat (and the yellow light) the halogens generate. They tend to yellow the white finish eventually. I am still looking into it, but it does not look hopefully about switching over to LED.

How do you turn off the lights? They automatically turn on at night.

    Asked by: GA
The unit comes with the ambient light sensor set to level 1 ON. This is the default. If you follow the directions on page 3 of your manual Clock settings > Display > Sleep Mode > Ambient Light Sensor then you will be able to change the Light Sensor to (AoFF). We had the same issue when the unit was first installed and it took us maybe a day to master the settings. Too bad that the installer did not run through the settings with us before he left.

How do you set the clock? How do you operate the lights?

The lights go on automatically when it gets dark in the kitchen. How do you prevent that?
    Asked by: RAD
This confused us at first also. Read instruction manual thoroughly and it explains how to dis-able this feature easily. Although if you lose electric it will automatically default to this setting. If you lost your manual go to Broan website to read or download another one.

    Why does the bottom slope?

The height of the hood is 6-1/2" where it makes contact with the front of the cabinet above. This is approximately 5/8" less that at the back of the hood. Consequently the bottom of the hood slopes up noticeably from back to front. Can the front of the hood be shimmed down so the bottom is level?
    Asked by: Bruce
I sure wish the dimensional drawing on this site would have indicated it was designed to slope. I very likely would have bought a different model. The hood looks for all the world like it was not installed level and it drives me crazy! It works great, but I may still shim it down and risk the wrath of the manufacturer LOL.
