Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT PURCHASE This vent looks great, has great lighting, and good smoke removal when ducted out...when it works! I have had this fan 2 1/2 years and installed by a professional. A year after I had it installed the blower wheel had a crack in it. Thankfully Broan replaced at no charge. Now today I need a whole new control assembly at a cost of over $200! The vent "ticks" and won't shut off. I will NEVER by a Broan vent hood again. Very disappointing. I spent over $400 on this vent, I was expecting better quality. If you buy one get a extended warranty. March 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by It is terrific The venting hood is everything my wife desired. It is good looking silent but very powerful fan and using LED spotlights has plenty of light September 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great function and great looks We bought this when we remodeled our kitchen. Vented it outside and it works great. We love the auto heat build up feature, if you get to much heat it will raise the fan speed until it cools down and then go back to your original setting. The auto off timer too. We have had many compliments of how it looks in our new kitchen. No regrets at all!! June 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This unit is a very nice and economical. The unit is good looking and very easy to keep clean compared to other stainless steel appliances. The controls are easily accessible and the filters are a snap to remove and clean in the dishwasher. February 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by NIce range hood All in all we like this range hood the light is plenty bright and it is nice that there are 3 choices for both the fan and light. It could be a bit quieter but it does a very good job. We replaced an over the range microwave with this as we didn't think it was doing a good enough job at clearing the air. February 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product, would buy this again The features on this product are great. The lighting is great along with the quiet fan . February 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product This Under Cabinet Hood looks great with our black stovetop. It was installed by the company from which we bought it. Our only problem was that it was hard to change the light bulbs and often the bulbs would go out even though they were not burned out. It was difficult to get them tightened just right. But, the problem has been eliminated by changing to a different style LED bulb recommended by the lighting representative at Lowe's...no more problems. It works great. February 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product has great features The light is the best. It lights up the entire cooking area very well. The fan works very well as well. Matches the stove we bought perfectly February 7, 2015

    Answer:
Thank you for your question regarding the QS236SS Range Hood. This unit is designed with a Heat Sentry technology which automatically turns the blower to high when excess cooking heat is detected. This may be the cause of your range hood running on its own. This symptom could also indicate a defective control assembly. Please contact Technical Support at 1-800-637-1453 if you need further assistance with this issue.

One of the customers' reviews complains that the fan is located on the left side of the unit so the suction is not very effective when the stove right side burners are on. Is this really the case?

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QS230SS range hood. This hood utilizes an offset blower design to achieve greater performance and lower sound levels. As a result, you may notice that cooking impurities are more attracted to one side or appear to be pulled-in faster than they appear on the opposite side. This is completely normal. The hood has been designed and tested to provide good capture of cooking impurities and odors under all normal cooking conditions regardless of the cooking location on the cooktop. Please note that cooking on the rear burners will always result in the best capture results, regardless of the hood design.

Thank you for your question on the model QS230SS range hood. To remove the aluminum mesh grease filter, you would use the tab or finger hole and push the filter towards the back of the range hood and pull the front of the filter downwards.
