  • Broan high capacity fans are an exceptionally quiet solution to continuous ventilation. With their heavy-duty motors, high capacity fans are an ideal solution for conference rooms, public restrooms and other areas in commercial buildings that require ongoing ventilation. How to eliminate cooking odors throughout the house.

Whenever the oven or cooktop is on, half the house becomes permeated with a cooking odor. Area in question is approx. 900 sq ft. There is an OTR microwave fan which seems to be totally ineffective. What size ventilation fan (with thru the roof ducting) do you recommend? How does one determine the CFM requirement for a particular application?

Thank you for your question on kitchen ventilation. To determine the minimum size CFM fan needed, you would take the total BTU of the cooktop and oven and divide by 100. The optimum size would be 1-1/2 – 2 times the minimum. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
