  • QDE30WW is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works well. This vent looks great above our new LG stainless steel range, works very well, and fit in the relatively thin space above our pretty thick granite backsplash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product is quiet, efficient and has a low profile. Installed one year ago (*June 2014). Still functioning efficiently. Very quiet at low speed. Fine for light smoke. Loud but bearable at high speed. Sucks in heavy smoke efficiently. Grease filters and blower wheel are easy to clean. Two lamps light the stove top evenly and well. Wish it had a third, medium, blower speed. I appreciate the low profile. I have been very happy with this range hood.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy and handsome replacement hood We used this to replace a 40 year old range hood, and it fit beautifully and instantly upgraded this corner of our kitchen. It works very well. The only knock is that there is no 'low' setting for the light. There is a rocker switch, but both settings turn the light on 'high'

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks and works really great, but only one setting for light We were looking for a replacement hood with a clean design, energy efficiency, low maintenance, and no unneeded bells and whistles. This has fit the bill very well. Our electrician had no problem with installation, and it has operated great from the start. The low and high fan speeds are all we've needed. But we wish there were also a low and high light setting. There are two CFLs with the Energy Star model. The rocker switch turns both CFLs on in both switch positions. So you get only the high setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Off the Bench During the course of our kitchen remodel, we failed an inspection because the ducted Broan under cabinet range hood we originally selected was TOO powerful (550 CMF). We had to quickly find a hood of under 300 CMF that met all the criteria for a gas range (distance from burners), stainless steel, and our personal aesthetics. This Broan was the only model of all the brands that met all the criteria. It has been a very competent replacement and is very quiet at low speed. It has sufficient draw to take away steam from a rolling boil and sautee pan fumes. The twin lights with CFBs are adequate but these bulbs do not allow a "hi" and "lo" setting so you have one brightness regardless of how you engage the rocker switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broan QDE30 Range Hood Excellent product at a very competitive price and the shipping cost is very reasonable, even to Hawaii.

Thank you for your question on the QDE30 range hood. I’m sorry, but you cannot move the electrical connections to the other side of the hood. It must be wired in the opening that is specified in the installation instructions.

What is the maximum total duct length allowable with the QDE 30WW?

Trying to calculate what the maximum total duct length (e.g. 65 equivalent feet) is for the QDE30WW range hood. Does Broan have a worksheet available to help calculate the total equivalent ductwork length, taking into consideration duct pieces, elbows, wall caps, dampers, etc?
    Asked by: DK
Thank you for your question on the model QDE30WW range hood. The QDE30SS range hood can handle up to 17 feet of straight, 3-1/4” x 10” duct work, without losing any CFM. You would need to reduce that length by six feet for every elbow. For further questions, please contact technical support at 1-800-637-1453.

for this model or the qse130ww, is it ok if there needs to be an elbow directly after the outllet/knockout??

    Asked by: Ben
Thank you for your question on the model QDE30WW and QSE130WW range hoods. It is never a good idea to place an elbow directly after the knockout and we would not recommend it. You will increase the sound and reduce the performance of the hood. The best installation would be to use at least two feet of straight pipe before an elbow.

How many watts do the fan and lights use?

    Asked by: Bushlander
Thank you for your question on the model QDE30SS range hood. The total current draw of the QDE30SS range hood would be 1.2 amps. That would make the total wattage around 145 watts.
