Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking hood, has some issues So far this hood is working okay. I have not had any problems with the lights. It does remove vapors from cooking, the screens get greasy, recommend cleaning them every couple of months. The screens are easy to access for cleaning. A few issues; 1. when it is windy outside, something in the hood assembly makes a metallic clanking noise. 2. when the fan is in the higher speeds, it makes a lot of noise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Design Flaw with Lighting Within 3 months of installation the lights in our unit began to fail. Replacing them is next to impossible due to a serious design flaw. The installation is backwards, impossible to get even a small woman's hand into the area to change the bulb. We have since changed the bulb and they randomly go off. If you bang the unit it will go back on temporarily. This is because it is next to impossible to replace the bulb properly. This flaw should have been caught during the design phase and most certainly corrected. You should not have to call service to change a bulb. Do not buy this unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the quality I was expecting. The assembly directions were somewhat overly complicated with too much information in some parts and very unclear directions in others. They tended towards the verbose, and the pictures were often confusing. This being said, I finally did get the range hood assembled. (By the way, I am a journeyman tool and die maker, directions and prints are my career.) I had to get larger screws to hold up the inner chimney, because the ones that came with it were insufficient to the task. Within in a month of the installation, the light on the left side of the hood quit working. I took the lens off and the light came back on. Recurring problem daily for 3 weeks. Now the light doesn't come on at all. I thick it must have a loose wire, but there is no way to get to the wiring to check.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love how it looks Perfectly match our contemporary kitchen, look beautiful I just couldn't found one like this. I wish the stores charge a little less to install it but any ways it was what I expected .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The hood is a very attractive addiiton to the stainless steel appliances I purchases for my kitchen renovation. The hood is beautifully designed. It was easy for the installer to fit it into the space above the cooktop. It functions exceptionally well. One of the lightbulbs required replacement and was easily installed. I think it blew because the installer touched the bulb when inserting it.

  • What kind of roof caps should I use for my vented out range hood?

I have this exact model installed not so long ago. I think the roof cap installed by the contractor leaks when it rains with strong wind. I noticed a small puddle of water on my stove a couple of times after such weather condition. My cap looks like the one uploaded. I think the rain came in through the side. I would like to install a type of cap that I don't have to worry about the rain water leak.
    Asked by: Kim
The type of roof cap is best to discuss with technical service @ 1-800-637-1453, so they can troubleshoot with you as to what is needed to correct the issue you are having.

What are the major differences between this model and the BR5630SS, and the EW5630SS?

I know that the EW series has more bells and whistles, but as near as I can tell, the major difference appears to be how many CFM the hoods move.
    Asked by: DoctorJ
Thank you for your question on the model B5630SS and the EW5630SS range hoods. Although the B5630SS and the EW5630SS are very similar hoods, the EW5630SS is a higher level hood with more options. You can download the spec sheets from our web site to compare the two.

My kitchen is 7' high. How much room is needed bwtween the bottom of this hood and the top of the range? Is it OK to shorten the hood?

    Asked by: Sue
Thank you for your question on the model B5730SS range hood. The bottom of the range hood needs to be installed no less than 30 inches and should be no more than 36 inches above the cooking surface for the best capture of the cooking impurities. We do not suggest trying to shorten the range hood chimney.
