I have a 40" gas range and I'm installing a 39" Broan model #883904 range hood. It currently measures 33" between the top of the gas range burners and the bottom of the range hood. Is the a good distance or should it be less space in between?

Thank you for your question on the model 883904 range hood. For the best capture of cooking impurities the bottom of the 883904 should be mounted 18 – 24 inches above the cooking surface.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 883001 range hood. If the fan and light stop working at the same time, the problem would normally be a wiring or supply problem, but it could be a problem with the control board assembly. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

Do I have to buy a separate non-ducted conversion kit for the 883904 range hood or does it come with it? If so, what is the part number so I can order it? Thank you.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 883904 range hood. The 883904 can be installed as ducted or ductless right out of the box. If used in the ductless configuration you would need to purchase the duct-free charcoal filters, part number 97007662. You can get these filters through the “Shop for Parts” link at the top of our web site page, or by contacting Customer Service at 800-558-1711.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model 883023 range hood. The 883023 requires the use of a 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular duct. If you convert the 3-1/4” x 10” to 8” round when you come off of the damper duct assembly, you can run the duct work an equivalent of 42 feet. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 if you need further assistance.
