To learn more about this revolutionary new product and how you can install it up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, CLICK HERE.

BROAN ULTRA GREEN™ Series Fans deliver everything you wished for in a bath fan – premium ventilation to help reduce airborne pollutants, extremely quiet operation, energy efficiency, consistent power and most impressively, the fastest, easiest, most universal installation available. These fans are ideal for both spot ventilation in humid bathrooms, as well as continuous ventilation to meet various building codes and Green Building standards around the United States.

    • 110 CFM reduces humidity to quickly eliminate fogged mirrors and manage moisture in bathrooms up to 100 square feet, so your vision will always be clear and your surroundings will always be comfortable
    • ULTRASilent™ Sound Technology results in operation at less than 0.3 Sones – the quietest sound rating attainable -- for an environment that is so quiet, you’ll likely forget the fan is on
    • ULTRAQuick™ Installation Technology uses an exclusive telescoping mounting frame with pre-installed screws, snap-in housing, snap-in blower and an inside-out mounting duct connector making installation up to 60% faster in retrofits and up to 20% faster in new construction, saving you time, money and aggravation
    • Retrofit installations can be done entirely from the room-side – no attic access required. This means a faster, easier installation, so you can move on to something else
    • Unique telescoping mounting frame can be placed and fastened through drywall hole because it expands from 14” to 24” and fits any type of joist, I-Joist or truss construction for a “no guesswork” installation to make the work fast and easy
    • Snap-in housing and blower further simplify installation since you can hear – and feel – when they are properly seated. Easy-to-position carriage allows housing location adjustment between joists so you can control the correct ceiling placement
    • ULTRASmart™ DC Motor & Control Technology provides energy efficiency almost 10 times greater than ENERGY STAR® requirements and maintains rated power (CFM) in nearly every installation. You have confidence you’re getting the expected performance and won’t even notice the fan usage on your utility bill
    • UL Listed for use over tubs and showers with a GFCI circuit; so you can capture the steam before it spreads throughout the room by locating your fan exactly where you need it the most
    • Compatible with Radiation Damper RDF1 which helps prevent flame and heat from spreading to other areas in multi-level buildings

Rated 4 out of 5 by Not as easy to install as advertised I will bet if you had 16 inch center rafters it would be as easy as advertised. I have 20 inch center rafters and it was much easier to install in the attic. Also, I needed to purchase a 4-6 inch HVAC adapter to hook into existing 4 inch duct. Oh and by the way HVAC foil tape will not stick to the included 6 inch duct adapter. I had to use a bunch of the best duct tape from Lowes and a lot of it to ensure no leaks in the future. Answer:
The XB110 is not UL listed for kitchen use. You may want to consider models 502 or 503. Both are side discharge fans, which can be used in kitchen applications. These models can be seen on our web site at www.broan.com.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110 exhaust fan. We only recommend using six inch duct work with the XB110. We do not recommend reducing the duct work to four inch.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model XB110 exhaust fan. The motors in the XB110 are brushless but they are not explosion proof. They are not to be used for exhausting any volatile vapors or odors.

    Answer:
I'm thinking it would have to be brushless or there would be maintenance parts. It is probably induction. One thing for sure, it is quiet.

    Answer:
It is normal for this ventilation fan to take about 5 seconds to start running after the control has been activated due to the motor and electronic board signals.

Just installed the fan and it vibrates badly. If run out of the housing it is whisper quiet. If I block the exhaust duct with a piece of cardboard it does the vibration thing. So we have a damper problem. I am venting with 4" up to a Y, then to a roof damper. I have no choice in the ducting. The damper swings freely. The fan I removed had no damper. So I am going to remove the damper, and wait for your answer. Oh, and this is in a second story bathroom, and I am not concerned about any upward heat loss, in fact I would welcome it! Dale.
PS: Is the plastic waffle grid necessary between the fan and the damper? Its presence made no difference.
