Thank you for your question on the model 764RB exhaust fan/light. This unit is designed to be installed with 2 x 6 construction. To use it with 2 x 4 construction, you would need to add additional framing.

Thank you for your question on the model 761RB exhaust fan light. To wire this unit to a single switch you would connect the bare ground wire from the house to the green ground screw inside the 761. You would connect the white neutral wire from the house to the two white wires inside the 761.
