  • Although larger duct diameters are always recommended, this transition will help when existing 4" duct cannot be replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I ordered a vent and installed it. I had acccidently ordered the vent with the 6" duct outlet instead of the 4". I decided it was easier (when I found this reducer) to get the reducer than to return (by mail) the vent. The reducer worked great and I received it when promised.

Does reducing duct size to 4" hurt the fan motor when run at full 430 cfm dicharge?

Allure 3 at 300 and 430 cfm discharge. Does this reduce motor life and performance?
    Asked by: Charley
Thank you for your question on the Allure 3 series range hood. You must use either 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular, or 7” round duct work on this unit. If you reduce the size of the duct work, you will reduce the CFM, make the motor work harder thus reducing the life of the motor and void the warranty.
