  • 2678F is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from leaks outside air like crazy! this unit is loud when running but the worst part is the outside air that leaks through the flapper, when not in use, that makes a constant flapping noise when it's even a little windy. The cold air that leaks in when it is winter time and even a little windy outside is incredible. What a horrible design on the flapper that is suppose to keep the air out when the unit is not in use.

  • A 2678 Fan is not strong enough for our room. What can I buy with more CFM that has same size body? Don't want to cut ceiling hole larger.

    Asked by: Charlie
Thank you for your question on the model 2678 exhaust fan/light finish kit. There are two fan/light combos that use the same size ceiling cut out. The model HD80L is 80 CFM and the model 680 is 100 CFM. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

I have three Model 678-B/678F-B Broan bathroom lights and fans. Can I use this kit and just replace the fan, light and lens?

Can I use the existing housing and just swap out the fan, light and lens? Thank you.

    I have a 678F fan/light with 50 CFM...is there a retrofit kit to increase it to 90 CFM?

The room has 77 sq.ft. with an 8ft ceiling...I read that with those dimensions I should have around 90 CFM . Is it possible to upgrade my 678F to increase the CFM, or do I have to replace it with a larger capacity unit?
    Asked by: Bob
Thank you for your question. In order to increase the CFM from what you currently have installed, you will need to change the entire unit, including the housing. There is no retro-fit where you can use what you have now.

I have a 678 Broan ventilation fan with light. How does the grille fasten on to the housing?

    Asked by: bassman
Thank you for your question on the model 678 exhaust fan/light. To install the grille on the 678, you need to place the reflector inside the grille and place both pieces against the ceiling at the same time. There is a stud on the motor mounting bracket that will come down through the hole in the top of the reflector. You would place a nut on the stud to hold the grille and reflector assembly tight against the ceiling. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.
