Rated 4 out of 5 by Not bad, but could be better It's definitely an upgrade from my late 80s hood, but it's a little louder than I would like on the medium and high fan speeds. It does expel smoke and odors well though. You can barely hear it on the low fan speed and the lighting is awesome! I like the all-black look too! The buttons are not consistently responsive and the clock runs fast over a short period of time (a month into it and it's already 3 minutes fast). It lets you turn off the clock so it doesn't show in the display, which is nice, because I already have to many clocks in the kitchen! The fan timer (auto turn-off after 10 minutes) is a plus too, especially since you can't hear it on the low fan speed. June 16, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good product, Poor design. Due to the placement of the suction fan on one side of the unit, smoke and steam are picked up well on the left side of the unit but not as well on the right side. March 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect except we have not figured out the relationship between the clock ann the light control. We are very happy with the unit. It does everything perfectly. It is quite to operate, looks good, and it does a great job exhausting the air. March 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Sleek appearance. Doesn't jump out like a typical range hood. The unit comes with 4 halogen lamps with 3 levels of light. Plenty bright. had 2 lamps burn out within 30 days but no other issues. Good control panel. Easy to clean. Quiet running fan. The only downside if you will is that the night light feature can't be turned off. A sensor turns on a low level light when the kitchen is dark. March 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very poor performance This product has had a displayed replaced once and has never performed as claimed. March 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Halogen lights were a surprise. The dealer where w purchased the range hood did not have a working model for us to examine so we ordered from their catalog after reviewing the Broan website. The four 50 watt halogen lights get hot enough to cook raw meat if you place it on top of your stove. Our previous range hood used incandescent bulbs which got hot but not as hot as the halogens. The Broan hood has settings which will lower the lights (and thus heat). The lights in our old hood were sufficient to fully light the stove area and the "spill" over into the kitchen area. This gave us enough light to do many kitchen chores without turning on additional lighting. The Broan lights are highly directional and don't spill over into the kitchen - unless they are turned up high - then here comes the heat. I tried using lower wattage halogen bulbs but did not resolve my issues. The control panel for the various range hood settings is a little tricky to master at first but if you carefully follow the directions and practice it a couple of times it becomes easy. For the younger generation who have mastered their dvd and blu ray players the range settings will be a snap. My wife likes that the removable grease filters are dishwasher safe and easily removed. She also likes that the fan speed is automatically variable depending upon cooking conditions. The unit looks great and seems well made. You might have to temporarily take a part time job to pay for it but like everything else you get what you pay for and we are pleased that we got this model. March 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great lighting! I just love this range hood. I've had it for over a year and have not had any problems. I bought it on a recommendation and glad I did. It has a nice sleek design that goes great with my beachy/contemporary kitchen, but I could see it in many other style designs as well. It does a great job of venting odors and smoke, but what I love most is the lighting. It has 4 lights with two settings. I like to use the ambient light sensor that will activate the lights when it detects a low level of lighting in the kitchen. March 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Looks great in my kitchen I am very pleased with the looks of this hood. The only problem I have had is with the automatic night light feature. It is not easy to "turn it off". But after many tries I can usually get it to work. March 10, 2014

    Answer:
The automatic "heat sentry" in this particular hood, is there to prevent any overheating condition within the hood and considered a safety feature. It cannot be turned off or disabled.

    Answer:
According to the info below you cannot turn off the auto fan feature. It has a mind of its own.

    1) If the fan is ON it will cycle up and down to deal with the temp.

    2) If the fan is off, (CANADIAN VERSION DOES NOT HAVE
THIS FUNCTION) the Heat Sentry system will automatically turn
the fan on to its highest speed when the temperature is above
normal. When the Heat Sentry system is on, the light above the
high speed fan button will flash on and off. After the temperature
has lowered to normal, the fan speed will be reduced until the
temperature has stabilized, then the fan will turn off.

    Suction Area

    Hi,
I heard that the air is suctioned from one side of the hood and not from both sides (left and right). Is that correct? If so what is the reason for that?
    Thank you.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QP336SS range hood. The hood utilizes an offset blower design to achieve greater performance and lower sound levels. As a result, you may notice the cooking impurities are more attracted to one side or appear to be pulled-in faster than they appear on the opposite side. This is completely normal. The hood has been designed and tested to provide good capture of cooking impurities and odors under all normal cooking conditions regardless of the cooking location on the cooktop. Please note that cooking on the rear burners will always result in the best capture of cooking impurities, regardless of the hood design.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QP330SS range hood. The range hood requires (4) 120 volt, 50 watt shielded halogen MR16 bulbs with GU10 base. Some manufacturers of bulbs will make the neck of their bulbs shorter than others. The QP3 does allow you to change the depth of the light socket, inside the hood to adapt to most bulbs. Please check the installation instructions for this adjustment. You can also contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for assistance.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model QP330BL range hood. The QP330BL range hood requires either 3-1/4” x 10” rectangular or 7” round duct work. Using one of these sizes of duct, you can run the duct work 15 feet straight without loss of CFM. For every elbow installed in the duct run, you would need to subtract that distance by 7 feet. You cannot run any smaller duct work on this model.
