Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good and does the job We like the hood. I have seen the auto heat sensor function when I had the fan on low and then it automatically switched to med speed due to the increase in the heat from the range burners and pan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So so quiet! We purchased to replace a noisy range hood (which we hardly used) so noise level was very important to us. My hubby installed it himself but found it very cumbersome because of the weight of the unit so I would recommend 2 people to install it. Lighting is excellent! But, one light bulb has burnt out already! Other than that, I LOVE my range hood!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product We had this installed so I don't know how easy it is to install yourself but my wife loves this! She loves how the lights slowly turn on and off as opposed to just on and off. Also loves the high suction. We think it is excellent noise level for such a high suction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge improvement over previously installed (28 years ago) Broan hood The illumination features are what really makes the difference. Installation was a bit difficult as it was a replacement and vent piping was already fixed in place. Nothing that wouldn't have been encountered with any other product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful prduct We purchased this for a kitchen remodel on the advice of the appliance store salesman. We are so happy we took his advise because this is an excellent product. The lights, nightlight and 3 levels for cooking are awesome! It is also very efficient at removing smoke and odors. I would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product We really like the way this hood looks. The fan is much quieter than our old over the oven microwave fan. It looks great too. Love all the features, like the different lighting functions. But the best part is the halogen lights. I've never had this much light while cooking, it really makes a big difference.

How do you turn off the lights? They automatically turn on at night.

    Asked by: Anonymous
The unit comes with the ambient light sensor set to level 1 ON. This is the default. If you follow the directions on page 3 of your manual Clock settings > Display > Sleep Mode > Ambient Light Sensor then you will be able to change the Light Sensor to (AoFF). We had the same issue when the unit was first installed and it took us maybe a day to master the settings. Too bad that the installer did not run through the settings with us before he left.

Can the halogen lights be replaced with LED lights?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I tried LED bulbs. Did not work. Low setting: they would not turn on. Med setting: They would flicker High setting: They would turn on....reluctantly. Guessing it has to do with the voltage levels across the bulbs. LEDs need a certain level to just turn on, whereas Halogens can handle a super low voltage. But, yes.. I really do not like the heat (and the yellow light) the halogens generate. They tend to yellow the white finish eventually. I am still looking into it, but it does not look hopefully about switching over to LED.

can you turn auto fan off?

    Asked by: Anonymous
According to the info below you cannot turn off the auto fan feature. It has a mind of its own. 1) If the fan is ON it will cycle up and down to deal with the temp. 2) If the fan is off, (CANADIAN VERSION DOES NOT HAVE THIS FUNCTION) the Heat Sentry system will automatically turn the fan on to its highest speed when the temperature is above normal. When the Heat Sentry system is on, the light above the high speed fan button will flash on and off. After the temperature has lowered to normal, the fan speed will be reduced until the temperature has stabilized, then the fan will turn off.

Doesn't seem to suck up much air and feels like a lot of air is coming out around the lights somehow..

Just doesn't seem to work very well not sure if this is normal. It isn't vented outside but I had hoped it would work better...

Did you install the unit or did you have someone else install the range hood? A possible answer to your question is that the unit comes to be installed as a ducted range hood. If you are going to use it as a non-ducted hood then you need to attach the Non-Duct Diverter to the Air Box. See steps 12 - steps 15 on page 7 of the instruction manual.
