Rated 2 out of 5 by from Attractive product, great features, BUT While shopping, this range hood was the best one I had seen after going to several stores. The features were great, it was sleek it really called my name. After a difficult (but successful) installation, I was very pleased with everything about it, until I wasn't. The fan refused to turn on. Customer service was helpful in finding a qualified repairman, but now I sit waiting for parts (and significant ones, the motor and blower). And in my experience items are rarely as "good as new" after new parts have to be installed. Also, the owners' manual is VERY difficult to understand. My hopes for the longevity of this range hood are greatly diminished after this extremely unwelcome and and frustrating beginning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Range Hood!! I am really satisfied with the QP330SS Evolution Series range hood. The lighting is great for cooking, (not to mention the night light feature). What!! The fan is so quiet on the lowest setting and at the BOOST setting (moving 450 cfm), was much quieter than my previous range hood. I rated the ease of installation as fair due to my lack of experience on changing out range hoods, but if I had to change another one out tomorrow I would be very confident doing so now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the research This unit keeps odors in the kitchen from spreading throughout our ranch house. Top setting very powerful and while a tad noisy, not deafening. Low setting is almost not heard at all. The lights are variable and nicely go from subtle to intense.....useful feature. Range hood is easy to clean. Caveat: The filter screen grids have plastic teeth to secure them to the underside of the unit. One has already broken off although the 'screen' still remains in place. Controls are easy with the exception of the setting the clock which has confounded my husband. This is not necessary even when there is a power outage.I wanted to note that even when the electricity is out, the clock continues to keep time... it has its own battery????

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Out of balance fan...vibrates off the cabinet on high! Happy with "looks" but my initial impression has been tarnished by receiving a unit with a warped blower fan, so I cannot operate on high speed. As stated in other reviews, fan is located to one side of the unit--clearing steam from pots on the right side of my 36 inch range is not possible without high speed. This causes us to "accommodate" the hood's inefficiencies and defects with most cooking. Yeah, I know...my fault for not returning or calling on the warranty. Maybe after my wife is retired and someone does not a have to take off work to resolve a problem that should not have gotten past quality control!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Smooth It so well designed, sleek and smooth edges. Unlike some fans this blends right in and is almost undetectable. The suction is so great I can fry with ease knowing the odors are set outside. I recommend this fan to anyone wishing to have great clen effects. It is opperated with ease, do not need any detailed instructions. Wonderful fan....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power for removing not only smoke, but also odors This was easy to i9nstall, has great venting power to get any fumes, smoke and odors out of kitchen and house. The lights are very bright and light up the stove top and adjacent counter top, and has magic touch dimming and or brightening capability. Vent as great control for amount of fan speed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent exhaust. Lights very good, low switch not easy to operate. Overall value is VERY good. The low level ON switch does not always turn the light on. Attractive design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful product! Fan runs very quietly and efficiently. Lights are great! I chose the Broan because it was to replace a very old model which was the same size. The old model still ran very efficiently, but I was not able to get it clean and it was loud. I believed that the replacement would be as good. So far it is proving to be true. I like the sleek, clean look, and the lighting is great. The fan runs very quietly. The low position is so quiet that it is hard to know if it is on, I rely on the fan button light to see if the fan is on. This was a very good choice! Thanks!!

  • How far above the cooktop should this be installed?

How do you turn off the lights? They automatically turn on at night.

    Asked by: Anonymous
The unit comes with the ambient light sensor set to level 1 ON. This is the default. If you follow the directions on page 3 of your manual Clock settings > Display > Sleep Mode > Ambient Light Sensor then you will be able to change the Light Sensor to (AoFF). We had the same issue when the unit was first installed and it took us maybe a day to master the settings. Too bad that the installer did not run through the settings with us before he left.

Can the halogen lights be replaced with LED lights?

    Asked by: Anonymous
I tried LED bulbs. Did not work. Low setting: they would not turn on. Med setting: They would flicker High setting: They would turn on....reluctantly. Guessing it has to do with the voltage levels across the bulbs. LEDs need a certain level to just turn on, whereas Halogens can handle a super low voltage. But, yes.. I really do not like the heat (and the yellow light) the halogens generate. They tend to yellow the white finish eventually. I am still looking into it, but it does not look hopefully about switching over to LED.

can you turn auto fan off?

    Asked by: Anonymous
According to the info below you cannot turn off the auto fan feature. It has a mind of its own. 1) If the fan is ON it will cycle up and down to deal with the temp. 2) If the fan is off, (CANADIAN VERSION DOES NOT HAVE THIS FUNCTION) the Heat Sentry system will automatically turn the fan on to its highest speed when the temperature is above normal. When the Heat Sentry system is on, the light above the high speed fan button will flash on and off. After the temperature has lowered to normal, the fan speed will be reduced until the temperature has stabilized, then the fan will turn off.

Doesn't seem to suck up much air and feels like a lot of air is coming out around the lights somehow..

Just doesn't seem to work very well not sure if this is normal. It isn't vented outside but I had hoped it would work better...
    Asked by: Anonymous
Did you install the unit or did you have someone else install the range hood? A possible answer to your question is that the unit comes to be installed as a ducted range hood. If you are going to use it as a non-ducted hood then you need to attach the Non-Duct Diverter to the Air Box. See steps 12 - steps 15 on page 7 of the instruction manual.
