Rated 4 out of 5 by from powerful and good looking range hood Looks great, and has excellent exhaust pull. Variable fan and two light settings are adequate for this appliance. It is convertible for a remote fan. Downsides are that it really is best to have a 10" venting pipe system. Due to an old house limitation, we have a 6" pipe system and I believe this makes the internal fan very very loud. It's a jet engine noise when on medium or high fan speed. The one negative in the design in my opinion is that the exhaust, and thus grease, gets pulled through the light socket cavities when you are cooking on the front range burners. This I believe to be a design flaw, as it should be a sealed system forcing all air through the baffle filters. So generally pleased, and do recommend, but not perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the money, great value. Easy to follow instructions and installation. I was a little concerned about the internal exhaust motor, but found it to be more efficient than stated. Excellent lighting system, it has two levels, low and high. I would highly recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent range hood We are very pleased with our hood. We searched for awhile to find the right one. The Broan hood looks great and is sturdy. The lights and fan are great. We chose Broan because the specifications were what we wanted, the look was want we wanted and it doesn't say "Broan" on it. We didn't want to have our hood with a brand name all over it. We would definitely recommend Broan hoods.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works very well, didn't last We had our kitchen remodeled as part of our house purchase before moving in, and put in this hood. We bought it a little under 2 years ago moved in about 18 months ago. It works really well, looks great, and wasn't particularly pricy, for what you're getting. However, it's just not lasted. We've been living in the house for a little over a year, and it's now making an awful noise. Sounds like the blower is trapped on something, but I've taken it out, and aside from the grease it's accumulated, nothing is trapped. It was mounted and installed professionally, so it wasn't shoddy work. The blower has just lasted a year - that's it. For a blower that cost over $1000 I'd expect many years of service, not just one. It's a pity, because it's a really great hood. Good lighting, great exhaust (when new), and looks professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does what it was designed for!!!!!!!!!!!! Great pro hood, I had others for a lot more money but they just don't work as well. If you want a better hood you would have to go to a remote blower model. And if you want you can replace halogen bulbs with led. This hood is noisier then some of the others but that's because it actually pulling air and smoke out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very attractive and solidly built I decided on this model because it allowed for rear venting, which I needed to convert from a simple wall fan to a hood. The venting was already in the all and most of the other hoods I reviewed could not be converted to a rear vent exhaust. That said, the quality and look of the hood is quite high and it is a pleasant addition to our kitchen. The controls are hidden and so you need to feel to find them. This isn't bad, but if your hand goes into one of the halogen lights, you are likely to get a burned finger. I replaced the halogens with LED bulbs.

  • Variable Fan Speed? Dimmable Lights?

You mention noise levels on "highest" and "lowest" fan speed settings. How many speed settings are there, total? or is it a rotating speed dial with (almost) infinite options? Also are there hi/low or dimmable options on the lights?
    Asked by: LindaM
Lights have three fixed settings, low and high and off The fan is a variable dial from low to high There is a separate rocker switch for the fan: on/off

Recently had E6030SS installed, but the noise from the outside vent it terrible. I have read about backdraft dampers - could I install one?

or do you have alternate suggestions.
    Asked by: Kathy
Page 3 and 5 in the installation instructions show the various installation products and typical installations methods. One type of damper comes with the hood, page 6 and nine. You should have a back-draft damper built into the wall cap or roof cap. If possible. take a look at the cap and see if it has a damper or if it is stuck open

    Lamp housing

There is a black 2-piece plastic housing around the lamp fixture that holds the lamp socket in place. This came out of our hood and we could not get it back in. Is there a trick to this?
    Asked by: prob-lamp
Thank you for your question on the model E6030SS range hood. It sounds like you may need a new lamp shell, socket and trim assembly. The part number for this socket can vary depending upon the revision letter that comes after your model number. You can find the model number up, underneath the hood on a specification label. Once you have the revision letter, we can supply you with the correct part number and pricing. Please contact customer service for more assistance at 800-558-1711.
