Label on MQF4 Duct Connector states it must NOT be used on fans with an incandescent bulb (presumably because of heated generated by an incandescent bulb), but this is not stated in description. I am using an A19 LED bulb on fan model AER80, so I may still install the connector and make a note on the fan housing for future reference not to use an incandescent bulb.
Otherwise, from examining the connector, it will seal the duct better and not flap in windy conditions than the standard damper in the InVent product line. Damper is not hinged in the middle but on top and conforms to the roundness of the duct. When closed it swings down to seal the duct with approximate 1/16” gap around the damper. When open it swings up and because it is round, it conforms to the inside of the connector allowing air to flow unrestricted. Presumably, the result will be quieter fan operation.
