  • HRV90HT is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compact in size. The home builder had this model installed. Comparing it to the exchanger at my last home, this one takes much longer to remove cooking odors and is installed much differently. Too small for the house size? I like the intermittent feature on the control panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tweks I would make 1 A more standard round vent attachment 2 Easier removal fan blower for cleaning 3 a better humidity control like some of the other model

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HRV90 I built an ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) house which is extremely airtight. Humidity became an immediate concern as all the water vapor from Refrigerator cooking cleaning dishwasher showers and people could not be exhauster well enough because a fan created negative pressure environment so no air moved unless I opened a window which I was reluctant to do at 18 degrees. THis unit performed perfectly humidity came down to 30% within 12-24 hours and I had to cut it off for comfort reason and have ordered the humidistat controller (highly recommended) THis unit is also able to change its core to a ERV to keep humidity down in the Summer although that is not a problem for me it should lighten my AC workload and make for a more comfortable environment. PS I have allergies and Asthma both of which have improved markerly.

  • How to Hang it

The mounting diagram shows the hanger mounts on the ends of the outside frame. However, the frames either have a latch or a door on them. There are 4 sets of holes already drilled in the top of the box. Are they strong enough to hold the unit?

Do any of your models have a summer bypass option?

I have a home with an insulated hollow core concrete slab on grade. The slab distributes/stores warmed air to each room via floor vents. Two plenums feed heated air into the system. One is a furnace and the other is a fan that pushes solar heated air from our solarium. We have 10" thick insulated walls and 14" inch thick insulated ceilings. The house is tight. Our problem is over warming in the summer. I have read there are HRV units that provide a bypass to the exchanger which would allow us to cool the pad with cool summer night air. We built the house in 1983 and love the solar boost we get during most of the year in the northwest. The pad keeps the temperature flux down but when it gets too warm it becomes a challenge to cool. We don't want a heat pump. Thank you!

why does my unit go into a one hour lockout mode?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question on the model HRV90HT heat recovery ventilator. If your wall control is set on Intermittent, in this mode the unit will be off for approximately 40 minutes per hour and ventilate at the minimum speed for the remaining 20 minutes of the hour. If you need more help, please contact Technical Support directly at 800-637-1453.
