Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Unit works extremely well. My wife has asthma and she feels the air quality in our home helps her condition. Does not use inhalers as much as she did before we have been living with this unit. The maintenance of this unit is very easy, We clean the unit every three months. The cost to operate is very affordable. We are very satisfied with the unit. August 22, 2013

Where to install, and integrate with HVAC or no?

I'm looking to have cleaner outdoor air. Would this just install in a wall somewhere and rely on the hvac to distribute air, or work with the ducting somehow?

    Thanks

Any way to retro fit a HEPA filter?

Can a HEPA filter go before or after this unit in the tubing? We have an ERV90HCS installed in our condo and I'm highly allergic to mold. While I like bringing in fresh air, I don't like bringing in any mold spores or other allergens that are outside.

    Answer:
Thank you for your question on the model ERV90HCS energy recovery ventilator. The air coming in from the outside does go through a filter that effectively filters airborne particles, such as pet dander, lint, dust and mold spores, but it is not a Hepa filter. Please contact the Technical Service Department at 800-637-1453 for further assistance.

    ERV - efficiency

    Hello all,

I try to help my client design a passivhaus in Taiwan. As far as I know, the weather in taiwan is humid and hot so that is why I consider ERV. Moreover PHI (Passive house institute) wishes the MVHR efficiency is at least higher than 75%. So can I choose this system or it is better to consider others?

Our architect has suggested whole house ERV/HRV system for a planned home in Hawaii. We will not have AC or heat, however. Are these systems still appropriate?

    Thank you
